Who Was Japheth?
Please join us in honoring the name and memory of a beloved hospitality member here at Bay View Collection hotels in Camden, Maine. Japheth Scott joined our team last summer, but left us unexpectedly this past fall. His energy radiated throughout the entire operation as he was always seen smiling, helping anywhere a fellow team member needed, and connecting with guests; all of which came so naturally to him. Japheth’s natural actions constantly reminded us all on a daily basis of why we are here following the love of hospitality, a path many of us have dedicated as our careers.
Benefit Pasta Dinner
To pay great honor in his name, we welcome you to join us in supporting two of Japheth’s personal focuses. A benefit take-out dinner will take place on May 25th, 2022 from 4 – 7PM with all proceeds being donated in his memory to the Restorative Justice Project Maine.
Dinner Includes:
Greens salad with strawberries, cucumber, crispy shallot & lemon vinaigrette
Garlic butter bread
Choice of orecchiette or spaghetti pasta
Choice of tomato meat sauce, parmesan alfredo or vegetarian marinara
Assorted cookies, brownies & bars
Dinner is $15 per person and is served grab & go style (a buffet will be set up with to-go boxes, sit down eating will not be available). All proceeds will be donated to the Restorative Justice Project.
Benefit Raffle
In addition, Japheth’s love of a snowy mountain has fostered the Japheth Scott’s Snowboarding Scholarship which provides financial assistance to aspiring young snowboarders towards purchases of lift tickets and lessons at our local ski mountain the Camden Snowbowl. In partnership with our family company Maine Sport Outfitters we will be hosting a raffle towards a complete snowboard setup to include board, bindings, and boots (a potential value of up to $800). This raffle will begin on May 25th, 2022 and will end with the winner chosen on October 1st, 2022. Tickets will be $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 and can be purchased through the front desk of 16 Bay View Hotel from May 25 – September 30th, 2022. 100% of the proceeds from this raffle will be donated in memory to the Japheth Scott’s Snowboarding Scholarship.
