XC Skiing & Snowshoeing

Fancy an activity that’s a little more low-key? There are plenty of beautiful trails to explore in the Midcoast that are perfect for XC skiing and snowshoeing: Tanglewood 4-H Camp in Lincolnville has over 12 miles of multi-use trails. Or, if you’re up for more of a challenge, snowshoeing up to the top of Mt. Battie or Maiden’s Cliff never disappoints.

Fat Tire Mountain Biking (yes, you read that right!)

Thomaston Town Forest is a beginner-friendly place to ride with trails maintained year round. Swap out your summer wheels for a set of fat tires and come play in the snow!

Ice-skating…a winter activity that never gets old! Take a spin around a local pond, or if you’re looking for something that’s more beginner-friendly, head inside to our local rink at the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport.
